New to the Birmingham Tame & Rea District Drainage Board at their works near Birmingham. The MRT’s collection includes a number of locos from here – fleet numbers 40 and 81 also worked on this site. In preservation, the loco initially moved to Shenley Fields Children’s Home, Birmingham in 1965. It then moved to the Cadeby Light Railway on 6/10/1979, and to Apedale on 22/4/2006. This is an early Ruston, fitted with a 2 cylinder Lister engine, as used in the years before Ruston fitted engines of their own manufacture to small locos.
